Webinar Workshop on Socialization of Intellectual Property Rights Registration: Copyright and Patents in the Field of Legal Science Wednesday (17/11/2021) The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (Faculty of Law USU) held a "Webinar Workshop on Socialization of Intellectual Property Rights Registration: Copyright and Patents in the Field of Law". The activity was carried out online and opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum. LKBH FH USU Webinar Series Day 2: “Legal Memorandum Preparation Training” Saturday (11/13/2021) The Legal Consultation and Aid Institute (LKBH) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, once again held a general webinar entitled "Legal Memorandum Preparation Training." This webinar continues the successful legal opinion preparation training webinar a week earlier. This webinar was held by inviting USU FH alumni to be speakers. Dr. Andris S.H., M.H., CRA., CLA., CLI., CPL, who is currently the founder and leader of the ANDRIS & PARTNERS Law Firm, and Frans Harahap S.H., M.H. from the Memori Keadilan Law Firm. 13 November 2021

Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum was Elected as Chairman of P3HKI 2021-2024 period. The Extraordinary Members Meeting (EGM) of the Indonesian Employment Law Teachers and Practitioners Association (P3HKI) appointed Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum, as the elected Chairperson of P3HKI for the 2021-2024 period. This RALB was held hybrid in conjunction with the 4th National Conference of P3HKI, which took place on November 12-13, 2021, at the Pomelotel Hotel, Jakarta. Dr. Agusmidah, who is also the Vice Dean I of the USU Faculty of Law, in her speech as Chairperson of P3HKI, said, “P3HKI must continue to guard workers' rights and also provide input to company associations and the government so that what is interpreted as fair labor can be achieved”. 12 November 2021

90 Years of Prof. Dr. Mariam Darus Badrulzaman, S.H., FCBArb Friday, November 12, 2021 The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a birthday celebration for Prof. Dr. Mariam Darus Badrulzaman, S.H., FCBArb, as well as the launch of the book “Tough Academics Who Never Stop Working for 90 Years” through the zoom media meeting. Attended by 257 guests, this birthday celebration successfully received many good and positive responses from the guests. The birthday commemoration of Prof. Dr. Mariam Darus Badrulzaman, S.H., FCBArb, as well as the launch of the book “Tough Academics Who Do Not Stop Working Sempena 90 Years” was hosted by Zulfi Chairi, S.H., M.Hum as the Master of Ceremony (MC). The prayer was read by Syamsul Rizal, S.H., M.Hum. 12 November 2021

USU and PERADI Establish Cooperation in the Implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education Thursday (11/11/2021) To implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) established a collaboration. This collaboration is established to implement education, training, assessment, research, and institutional development. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between USU and PERADI, which was held at the USU Rector's Office House, was attended by USU Rector, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, accompanied by Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. Vice Dean III, Dr. Mohammad Ekaputra, SH, M.Hum, and from PERADI, the Chairman of DPC PERADI Medan, Charles JN Silalahi, S.H., M.H., and Secretary of DPC Peradi Medan, Hasrul Benny Harahap, SH, M.Hum, were present. 11 November 2021

Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Sunan Ampel Visit at Faculty of Law USU Thursday (10/11/2021) The Faculty of Law USU received a visit from the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel, Surabaya. This benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Sunan Ampel was to respond to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy and to gain insight into the technical implementation of the KKNI - MBKM curriculum. The delegation from the Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Sunan Ampel was chaired by Vice Dean I, Prof.Dr. Titik Triwulan Tutik, SH, accompanied by the Head of the Law Department, Dr. Muwahid, SH, M.H, Head of Islamic Public Law, Nurul Asiya Nadhifah, M.HI, Moh. LKBH FH USU Organizes Legal Opinion Making Training Saturday (06/11/2021) The Legal Consultation and Assistance Institute (LKBH) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a public webinar titled “Legal Opinion Making Training” through the Zoom online meeting media. This webinar is a series and will be held in conjunction with other follow-up webinars entitled Making Legal Memoranda and Legal Audits. Attended by 466 participants, this webinar event successfully received many positive responses from the participants who attended. The training webinar for making legal opinions was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law of USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum; in the training session presented 2 (two) resource persons, Hasrul Benny Harahap, S.H., M.Hum and Dr. Detania Sukarja, S.H., LLM., who was guided by Cheryl Patriana Yuswar, S.H., LL.M. who acted as moderator. 06 November 2021

USU Faculty of Law Organizes International Guest Lecture with the Theme International Business Series - Business Law In Malaysia and Humanitarian Law Thursday (28/10/2021) The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), held two International Guest Lecture activities for students with different themes and resource persons. For the public lecture on the theme International Business Series: Business Law in Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Mushera Binti Ambaras Khan from International Islamic University Malaysia presented the resource person, and for the theme of Humanitarian Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salawati Mat Basir from University Kebangsaan Malaysia. 28 October 2021

FH USU and Kemenkominfo RI Cooperate in Organizing Public Discussion Thursday (28/10/2021) The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) and the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENKOMINFO RI), Directorate General of Informatics Applications collaborated in organizing a Public Discussion with the theme “Strengthening Human Rights Protection Parameters in the Application of Illegal Content Regulations in the ITE Law.” The public lecture was held online and offline at Grand Cityhall Medan. 28 October 2021

Public Lecture on the Introduction of OJK and the Field of Consumer Education and Protection Thursday (21/10/2021) The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority of the Republic of Indonesia (OJK RI) held a public lecture webinar for students and academicians of FH USU. The public lecture with the theme Introduction to OJK and the Field of Consumer Education and Protection was held online through a Zoom meeting attended by 450 participants. The Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. in his remarks as well as opening the event, said that the OJK (Financial Services Authority) was given the mandate and authority to maintain Indonesia's financial stability, one of its important roles was regarding Financial Services Consumer Protection. 21 October 2021
