USU Faculty of Law and the Directorate General of Land Rights Determination and Registration, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs, and Spatial Planning/Land Agency carried out Surveyor Training activities in the context of Inventory and Identification of Customary Land in North Sumatra Province.

Public Relations FH-USU: Tuesday – Wednesday (14 – 16 June 2022)

USU Faculty of Law and the Directorate General of Land Rights Determination and Registration, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs, and Spatial Planning/Land Agency carried out Surveyor Training activities in the context of Inventory and Identification of Customary Land in North Sumatra Province. The training activities were conducted online and offline at The Hill Hotel and Resort, Sibolangit.

 

The opening of the event was opened by the USU Rector, who was represented by Vice Rector, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH., MA, accompanied by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum. Also present were the Director of Communal Land Regulation, Institutional Relations and PPAT, Sepyo Achanto, SH., MH., Head of the USU Faculty of Law Masters Study Program in Notary, who is also the Head of the Research Team, Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, SH., M.Hum. , Secretary of the Master in Notary Study Program, Faculty of Law, USU, Prof. Dr. Rosnidar Sembiring SH., M.Hum.

Surveyor Training was given to 15 implementing team members and 14 surveyors from USU by involving several resource persons, namely the Head of the North Sumatra BPN Regional Office represented by the Head of the Determination of Rights and Registration Division, Indra Imanuddin, SH., MH with the training material title "Indigenous Peoples and Customary Land in North Sumatra, Prof. Dr. Kurnia Warman, SH., M.Hum with the training material entitled "Experience in Identification and Inventory of Customary Land in West Sumatra and Kalimantan," Prof. Dr. Rosnidar Sembiring, SH., M.Hum with the training material title "Criteria for Customary Law Communities and Customary Land, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yamin, SH., CN., MS training material "Public Dimension and Private Dimension of Customary Rights", Dr. Maria Kaban, SH., M.Hum training material “Recognition and Protection of Indigenous Peoples’ Rights,” Drs. Zulkifli Rani, S.Sos, M.Si training material “Sociological Anthropological Research Instrument,” Ir. Robi Arianta Sembiring, ST., M.Eng training material “Introduction to Mapping.”

 

On the second day of the training, the activity included training on the format for writing survey reports. Implementing the Inventory and Identification of Customary Land in North Sumatra Province aims to compile a list of customary land inventoried in a census along with its distribution map and a list of communal land surveyed with a minimum sampling of 1 plot per district/city in North Sumatra Province.
