The USU Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (PPN/BAPPENAS RI), Directorate of Law and Regulation, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity on the Preparation of the Background Study of the 2025-2029 RPJMN AND 2025-2045 RPJPN in the Field of Law and Regulation. The FGD activity occurred hybrid in the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) room of the USU Faculty of Law. The FGD activity was attended directly by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum, Director of Law and Regulation of the Ministry of PPN/BAPPENAS RI, R.M. Dewo Broto Joko, P.SH., LL.M., Head of the Doctoral Study Program in Law, USU Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH., MH., LL.M.
The speakers in the focused discussion were Prof. Dr. Alvi Syahrin SH., MS (Professor of USU Law Faculty), Feri Amsari, SH., M.H., LLM (Academic of Universitas Andalas), Majda El Muhtaj, M.Hum (Academic of Universitas Negri Medan). Participants in the focused discussion who attended offline and online came from various ministries, non-ministerial institutions, law enforcement agencies, provincial and district/city governments, civil society, and academics.
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum, in his remarks, said, "It is an honor for the USU Faculty of Law to be given the trust to collaborate with the Ministry of PPN/BAPPENAS RI Directorate of Law and Regulation to organize a series of activities that are not only very important but also influence in determining the direction of this country and nation in the future."
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law hopes that through this focused discussion, all the knowledge and experience possessed can be utilized to identify and inventory various strategic issues on the discussion topic and seek multiple alternative solutions and strategies as input in the Preparation of the Background Study of the 2025-2029 RPJMN AND 2025-2045 RPJPN in the Legal and Regulatory Field.
