The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (IKA FH USU) held a deliberation in 2022 with the theme: 'Through the IKA FH USU Deliberation, We Increase the Consolidation and Role of Alumni in Developing the Faculty of Law USU', motto: Alumni United, Faculty of Law USU Forward. The event, which took place at the USU Faculty of Law Moot Court Building, was attended by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. , Chairman of PP IKA USU, represented by Dr. Syahril Efendi SSi, MIT, Chairman of IKA FH USU, Prof.Dr. Hasim Purba, SH, M.Hum. Secretary, H Marasimin Ritonga, SH, and Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Rosnidar Sembiring, SH, MHum.

The Chairman of the Committee, Ahmad J Damanik, said in the committee report that together with the Secretary and Treasurer, the Committee had prepared everything quickly. It had opened registration from the start, and according to records, hundreds of alumni had registered as participants before the implementation of the IKA FH USU Deliberation activities, hundreds of alumni had registered as participants.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of IKA FH USU for the 2018-2022 Period, as well as an alumnus of FH USU in 1985, Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, SH, M.Hum said that currently it is still in the atmosphere of the month of Shawwal, therefore I offer Minal Aidzin Walfaizin. On behalf of the alumni of FH USU on this occasion, we also condone the passing of the PPIKA 2010-2015 Chairman, Dr. Mayasa Johan, a few days ago. The management of IKA FH USU ends on March 26, 2022. However, in its development and according to the plenary meeting, it is still valid until it finishes preparing deliberations by the end of May 2022. Then, the inauguration will be held at the June 2022 National Conference. Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba also said, "Considering that the USU Faculty of Law Moot Court building has not been opened for a long time, to restore its function, we decided to hold a deliberation event here, “he said.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, in his remarks, said that currently,y we in the USU Faculty of Law are communicating and cooperating with all USU Leaders in preparing “planes carrying passengers (students) to the sky to reach the Stars” for this year 2022, FH USU sent 3 USU Faculty of Law students in the 2022 Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program to overseas universities funded by the Government, in 2022 this is the most because last year only one student. Regarding the Merdeka Belajar program from the Ministry of Education and Culture, we are currently striving for 20 to 40 credits with the Internship method or learning studies while doing activities outside the campus school, “said the Dean. The Dean added that 30% of professional lecturers, such as the curator profession, will be scheduled to teach as non-permanent teaching staff in our faculty. The Dean hopes that IKA FH will synergize with USU to advance the university.

The Chairperson of PP IKA USU, represented by Dr. Syahril Efendi SSi, MIT said that “actually previously to represent the Chairperson of PP IKA, Raden Safiii (Romo), namely Mr. Iksan as General Secretary who attended and opened this IKA FH USU Deliberation, but was unable to attend because Mr. Ikhsan had an accident, so I was assigned to represent and open the current IKA FH USU Assembly officially,” he explained. In the 2022 IKA FH USU Deliberation, Hasrul Benny Harahap, SH, M.Hum was unanimously appointed as the elected Chairman of the USU FH Alumni for the 2022-2026 period. In his remarks after being elected, Hasrul Bennny Harahap, SH, M.Hum as General Chairperson of the USU FH Alumni said, “I expect prayers and support from all parties at the USU Faculty of Law and hopefully can work well together to advance the Faculty that we love with other friends”.
