FH USU Student Receives Regional I Scholarship (RIS) from PTPN IV Academic Year 2025/2026 A student of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), has once again received educational support through the Regional I Scholarship (RIS) program organized by PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (PTPN IV) Regional I. The scholarship handover ceremony was held on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at the Sawit Hall, PTPN IV Regional I Office. 04 February 2026

The Dean of FH USU Leads a Coordination Meeting to Evaluate the Progress of IKU Achievement At the beginning of the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum, led a Coordination Meeting with the Vice Deans as well as the Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs within FH USU. The meeting specifically discussed the progress of the Faculty’s Key Performance Indicator (IKU) achievements. 30 January 2026

Through an FGD Activity, FH USU Presents a Guest Speaker from Silla University, Busan, South Korea Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), once again welcomed an international speaker, Prof. Jin-Ho Shim, a Professor from Silla University, Busan, South Korea. Prof. Jin-Ho Shim served as the keynote speaker in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) themed “How Have Women’s Roles and Creativity Evolved in Korea?”, held at the Faculty Advisory Council Room (DPF) of FH USU. 28 January 2026

Orientation and Socialization Program for IPPAT Associate Member Internship Candidates and Introduction to the Role of PPAT The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Association of Land Deed Officials (PP IPPAT), in collaboration with the Master’s Program in Notarial Law (MKN) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), organized an Orientation and Socialization Program for Internship Candidates of Associate Members (ALB) of IPPAT, along with an Introduction to the Role of Land Deed Officials (PPAT). The event was held at the Master’s Program in Notarial Law Building, Faculty of Law USU, in the MKN Lecture Hall, 2nd Floor. 23 January 2026

USU Faculty of Law, Undergraduate program in Law Studies and UBT Undergraduate program in Law Implement an Implementation Agreement for Law Curriculum Development The USU Faculty of Law, through its Undergraduate program in Law Studies established a collaboration by signing an Implementation Agreement (IA) with the Undergraduate program in Law Studies of Bunda Thamrin University (UBT). The signing took place on the 5th Floor of the Bunda Thamrin University Building, Medan. 22 January 2026

Four Members of the USU Academic Senate from the Faculty of Law Participate in Leadership Capacity Building Training Four members of the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) from the Faculty of Law (FH USU) participated in a Leadership Capacity Building Training on Higher Education Management, organized by Universitas Sumatera Utara on 20–21 January 2026. FH USU Supports the Strengthening of International Research through the UMT–USU IPRG Fellowship The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) continues to strengthen international research collaboration. This commitment is reflected through the offering of a Research Fellowship under the International Partnership Research Grant (IPRG) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) to an FH USU lecturer, Dr. Vita Cita Emia Tarigan. 13 January 2026

USU Doctor of Law Alumni Association Distributes Humanitarian Aid to Flood and Landslide Victims The Alumni Association (IKA) of the Doctoral Program in Law Studies at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) distributed humanitarian aid to victims of floods and landslides through the USU Care Post. This activity reflects the alumni’s social concern and solidarity with communities affected by natural disasters. 15 December 2025

FH USU Hosts Public Hearing Meeting of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), was appointed by the university to serve as the host of a public hearing meeting organized by the Commission for the Acceleration of Reform of the Indonesian National Police (POLRI). The meeting was held at the Faculty Advisory Council Room (DPF) of FH USU. The public hearing was led directly by members of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission, Prof. Dr. Moh. Mahfud MD., S.H., and Commissioner General (Ret.) Ahmad Dofiri, M.Si., along with members of the POLRI Reform Working Group. 12 December 2025
