On Friday (October 2, 2026), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), received a visit from representatives of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Sumut) in preparation for an academic engagement activity in the form of a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The meeting took place in the Dean's Meeting Room of FH USU.
The upcoming FGD will discuss the topic “Strengthening the Academic Foundation of Adhyaksa Chambers as an Instrument for Strategic Public Sector Dispute Resolution to Support Legal Certainty and the National Investment Climate.”
From FH USU, the meeting was attended by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum.; Manager of Cooperation, Dr. Robert, S.H., M.Hum.; Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Law, Boy Laksamana, S.H., M.Hum.; and Head of the FH USU Office, Sadli Damanik, A.Md.
From the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, the meeting was attended by Assistant for Civil and State Administrative Affairs, Nur Handayani, S.H., M.H., together with the Head of the Civil Affairs Section, Lamro Simbolon, S.H., M.H.
During the meeting, the parties discussed plans for the implementation of the FGD on October 14, 2026, organized through cooperation between the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office and FH USU. The activity is intended as a forum for involving academics to obtain scientific, conceptual, normative, and policy input regarding the urgency, academic foundation, positioning, mandate, and development of Adhyaksa Chambers.
The results of the FGD are expected to enrich the preparation of the academic paper, master plan, roadmap, institutional design, governance, and operational mechanisms of Adhyaksa Chambers. Thus, the establishment of Adhyaksa Chambers as an instrument for strategic public sector dispute resolution is expected to have a strong academic foundation and support legal certainty and the national investment climate.
This meeting demonstrates the commitment of FH USU and the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office to strengthening collaboration between the academic community and law enforcement institutions in generating ideas that contribute to the development of national law and policy.
