Alumni Teaching in Celebration of the 71st Anniversary of FH USU, Winning Strategies: Tips for Securing International Scholarships The Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) held a seminar on strategies for securing international scholarships. This seminar was part of the Alumni Teaching Week series in celebration of FH USU's 71st anniversary. The event invited the Indonesian Association of British Alumni (IABA) of North Sumatra to provide information and tips on obtaining international scholarships for studying abroad, specifically for FH USU students. 19 February 2025

FH USU Welcomes Benchmarking Visit from FH UPH Jakarta The Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) received a benchmarking study visit from the Managers of the Master's Program in Law Studies (MIH) and the Master's Program in Notary (MKn), of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Jakarta. 18 February 2025

DPK GmnI FH USU, PBHI, and LBHM Hold Public Dialogue on “Exploring the Format and Assessing the Readiness of Death Penalty Commutation from a Human Rights Perspective” The Executive Board of the Indonesian National Student Movement (DPK GmnI) of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), in collaboration with the Indonesian Legal Aid Association (PBHI) and the Community Legal Aid Institute (LBHM), held a public dialogue titled "Exploring the Format and Assessing the Readiness of Death Penalty Commutation from a Human Rights Perspective." This event was conducted in a hybrid format, utilizing the Zoom platform and at the FH USU Moot Court Hall. 18 February 2025

Alumni Teaching in Celebration of the 71st Anniversary of FH USU, Dr. Darmawan Yusuf, S.E., S.H., M.Pd., M.H., CTLA., Mediator: “Settlement of Foreign Worker Disputes in Indonesia” The Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), in celebration of its 71st Anniversary, held the second session of the Alumni Teaching Program, featuring Dr. Darmawan Yusuf, S.E., S.H., M.Pd., M.H., CTLA., Mediator as the speaker. He is an alumnus of FH USU, an advocate, and the owner of Darmawan Yusuf & Associates Law Firm. This second session took place at the Pendopo of FH USU and was attended by FH USU students from various specializations. 18 February 2025

FH USU lecturer wins Most Outstanding Presentation Award at Australasian Consumer Law Roundtable 2024 A lecturer from the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), Dr. Detania Sukarja, S.H., LLM, won the “Most Outstanding Presentation Award” at the 2024 Australasian Consumer Law Roundtable, held by Deakin Law School, Australia on December 5-6, 2024. Dr. Detania Sukarja presented a paper titled “The Emergence of Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) in the Retail Market: Lessons on Legal Implications for Indonesia and Malaysia,” co-authored with Dr. Doli Muhammad Jafar Dalimunthe S.E., M.Si (Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, USU) and Professor Mushera B.A. Khan (Lecturer at International Islamic University Malaysia). 17 February 2025

Alumni Teaching in Celebration of the 71st Anniversary of FH USU: “Introduction to Competition Law” The Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) held the inaugural session of the Alumni Teaching program as part of the celebration of the 71st Anniversary of FH USU. The event took place in the International Classroom of FH USU. This first session featured FH USU alumnus M. Ridha Thanthawi, S.H., a Corporate Lawyer and Junior Associate at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) Law Firm, Jakarta, as the speaker. 17 February 2025
