The Doctoral Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), has officially graduated its 26th, 27th, and 28th Doctors of Law in 2025. The open doctoral promotion sessions, held at the Council of Faculty Considerations (DPF) Room of FH USU, were opened by the Rector, represented by the Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.Hum., and attended by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum., along with the Head and Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Law, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li., and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum.

FH-USU-Public Relations: Monday (10 and 17 November 2025), the Doctoral Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH-USU), once again graduated candidates for the Doctor of Law degree, marking the 26th, 27th, and 28th doctoral promotions of 2025. The open doctoral promotion sessions, held at the Council of Faculty Considerations (DPF) Room of FH USU, were opened by the Rector, represented by the Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.Hum., and attended by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum., as well as the Head and Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Law, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li, and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum.

 

The doctoral candidates (promovendus/promovenda) presented and defended their dissertations as follows:

 

  1. M. Hadyan Yunhas Purba
    Dissertation: “The Authority of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) in Supervising Partnerships of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.”
    Promotor: Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li.
    Co-Promotors: Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum.; Dr. Dedi Harianto, S.H., M.Hum.
    External Examiners: Prof. Dr. Jur Udin Silalahi, S.H., LL.M.; Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, SE., ME.; Dr. Syarifah Lisa Andriati, S.H., M.Hum.
    Result: Awarded the Doctor of Law degree with “Very Satisfactory” distinction.

  2. Ellieka Sari
    Dissertation: “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights for Traditional Medicine Products and Healing Techniques in Relation to Fostering the Creative Economy of the Karo Community.”
    Promotor: Prof. Dr. Runtung, S.H., M.Hum.
    Co-Promotors: Prof. Dr. Saidin, S.H., M.Hum.; Prof. Dr. Maria, S.H., M.Hum.
    External Examiners: Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, S.H., M.Hum.; Prof. Dr. Rosnidar Sembiring, S.H., M.Hum.; Dr. Ratih Baiduri, M.Si.
    Result: Awarded the Doctor of Law degree with “Very Satisfactory” distinction.

  3. Asmadi Lubis
    Dissertation: “Protection of Ulayat Land of the Batak Toba Indigenous Legal Community from the Perspective of Positive Law in Indonesia (A Study in Toba Regency).”
    Promotor: Prof. Dr. Runtung, S.H., M.Hum.
    Co-Promotors: Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A.; Prof. Dr. Maria, S.H., M.Hum.
    External Examiners: Prof. Dr. Darmawan, S.H., M.Hum.; Dr. Idha Aprilyana Sembiring, S.H., M.Hum.
