FH-USU-Public Relations: Thursday (13/11/2025), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), and the Yayasan Orangutan Sumatera Lestari – Orangutan Information Centre (YOSL–OIC) officially entered into a collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), held in the executive meeting room of FH USU.

The MoA was signed directly by the Executive Director of OIC and the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum. This agreement represents the concrete commitment of both parties to strengthen collaboration through research, workshops, dissemination activities, and community service.

Through this partnership, both institutions agreed to cooperate in various areas, including research and development in environmental law, community engagement programs, capacity building for students and lecturers, and the implementation of academic and non-academic activities that support orangutan conservation and ecosystem protection.

The Dean of FH USU welcomed this collaboration as a tangible academic contribution to addressing increasingly complex environmental issues. Meanwhile, YOSL–OIC views this partnership as an important step toward strengthening legal aspects in wildlife conservation efforts.

With the signing of this MoA, it is expected that the synergy between conservation organizations and educational institutions will generate positive impacts on environmental preservation and ecosystem sustainability in Sumatra.
