USU Faculty of Law Doctoral Study Program Holds 10th to 14th Open Doctoral Promotion Session in 2025 The Doctoral Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (Doctoral Program in Law, FH USU) has once again graduated the 10th to 14th Doctors of Law for 2025. The open Doctoral Promotion Session held by the Doctoral Program in Law, FH USU, took place in the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) room of FH USU, and was opened by the Chancellor represented by Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H, M.Hum, and was also attended by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum., Chair and Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Law, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li. and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum. 12 June 2025

The Doctoral Program in Law at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara Hold its 7th to 9th Open Doctoral Promotion Sessions in 2025. The Doctoral of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara confer Doctor of Law degrees to the 7th to 9th graduates of the 2025 cohort. The open doctoral defense session organized by the Doctor of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held in the Faculty Advisory Board (FAB) room of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was opened by the Rector, represented by the First Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.Hum., and was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum., the Chair and Secretary of the Doctor of Law Program, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li., and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum. 10 June 2025

Strengthening Capacity, FH USU Inaugurates First Hukumonline Corner in North Sumatra The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) officially launched the Hukumonline Corner, a digital facility offering technology-based legal research services. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for FH USU, as it becomes the first university in North Sumatra to have a Hukumonline Corner, already established in over 40 law schools across Indonesia. 02 June 2025

Intensive Career Bootcamp 2025 Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) once again held an intensive training program in the form of the “2025 Intensive Career Bootcamp,” held at the FH USU Moot Court Building. Through this activity, it is hoped that participants, consisting of FH USU students, will receive instruction in legal materials and skills at the practical level. 26 May 2025

International Symposium: “Competition Law in and for Asia: Facing a Diverse Economy and Digital Transformation” Collaboration between the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara, the Faculty of Law of Kyushu University, and the Faculty of Law of the The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), once again demonstrated its commitment to addressing global challenges by collaborating in a series of activities with the Faculty of Law at Kyushu University and the Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore. The activities were conducted in person at Kyushu University in Japan. 21 May 2025

Guest Lecture, Dr. Syuhaeda Aeni Mat Ali “Sharia Meets FinTech: Malaysia's Islamic Digital Economy Through Banking, Takaful, and Social Finance” The Faculty of Law at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) held an international guest lecture featuring Dr. Syuhaeda Aeni Mat Ali from the Faculty of Law at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia, on the topic of “Shariah Meets FinTech: Malaysia's Islamic Digital Economy through Banking, Takaful, and Social Finance.” Dr. Syuhaeda Aeni Mat Ali is the Head of the Centre for Law at the Institute of Continuing Education & Professional Studies (iCEPS), Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia. 02 May 2025

Head of PPATK Delivers Scientific Oration at the 71st Anniversary of FH USU The Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) commemorated its 71st Anniversary by holding a scientific oration themed “Law and Morality in the Swirl of Suspicious Financial Transactions: A Critical Perspective on the Role of PPATK as Guardian of Financial Integrity,” featuring the Head of PPATK, Dr. Ivan Yustiavandana, S.H., LLM.
