The Doctoral of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara confer Doctor of Law degrees to the 7th to 9th graduates of the 2025 cohort. The open doctoral defense session organized by the Doctor of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held in the Faculty Advisory Board (FAB) room of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was opened by the Rector, represented by the First Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.Hum., and was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum., the Chair and Secretary of the Doctor of Law Program, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li., and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum.

The Doctoral of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara confer Doctor of Law degrees to the 7th to 9th graduates of the 2025 cohort. The open doctoral defense session organized by the Doctor of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held in the Faculty Advisory Board (FAB) room of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was opened by the Rector, represented by the First Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.Hum., and was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum., the Chair and Secretary of the Doctor of Law Program, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li., and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum.

 

Three doctoral candidates participated in the open defense of their dissertations as follows:

  • JUFRI, Student ID No. 218101005, with the dissertation title “IMPOSITION OF CRIMINAL PENALTIES FOR PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION AGAINST CORPORATIONS THAT ARE NOT DEFENDANTS IN CORRUPTION CRIMINAL CASES”. With the supervisor, Prof. Dr. Elwi Danil, S.H., M.H.; co-supervisors, Dr. Edy Yunara, S.H., M.Hum., and Dr. Detania Sukarja, S.H., LL.M.; external examiners, Prof. Dr. Alvi Syahrin, S.H., M.S., and Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A. He successfully obtained his Doctorate degree with the predicate “Very Satisfactory”;

  • RINA MELATI SITOMPUL, Student ID No. 218101014, presented her dissertation titled, “The Granting of Restitution to Victims of Human Trafficking Crimes from the Perspective of Fulfilling the Principle of Justice.” With the supervisor, Prof. Dr. Elwi Danil, S.H., M.H.; co-supervisors, Dr. Mahmud Mulyadi, S.H., M.Hum, and Dr. Mohammad Ekaputra, S.H., M.Hum; external examiner, Prof. Dr. Maidin Gultom, S.H., M.H., Dr. Marlina, S.H., M.Hum., and Dr. Rosmalinda, S.H., LLM. She successfully obtained her Doctorate degree with the predicate “Very Satisfactory”;

  • ROSDIANA TARIGAN, with the dissertation title, “LEGAL STATUS OF MARRIAGES CONDUCTED ACCORDING TO KARO CUSTOM (SAHKEN TUA-TUA) A Study of the Karo Community in Three Districts of Karo Regency”. With the supervisor, Prof. Dr. Runtung Sitepu, S.H., M.Hum.; Co-supervisor, Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, S.H., M.Hum., and Prof. Dr. Rosnidar Sembiring, S.H., M.Hum.; External Examiners: Prof. Dr. Maria Kaban, S.H., M.Hum., Dr. Ratih Baiduri, S.H., M.Si., and Dr. Idha Apriliana, S.H., M.Hum. She successfully obtained the Doctorate degree with the distinction of “Very Satisfactory”;
