Public Relations FH-USU: Saturday (07/12/2024)
The IMAHARA Management Inauguration for the 2024-2025 period took place in the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) room of the Faculty of Law, USU, and was coupled with legal seminars discussing issues related to the Administrative and Agrarian Polemics in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN).
This activity was attended by invited guests, both students and lecturers teaching State Administration Law. The lecturers played an important role in the event, from opening remarks to closing. The lecturers who attended included Vice Dean I, Dr. Agusmidah S.H, M.Hum, Mariati Zendrato S.H, M.Hum, and Andi Nova Bukit, S.H, M.H.
In her remarks, Mariati Zendrato S.H, M.Hum, expressed her appreciation for organizing the inauguration and a legal seminar expected to broaden the participants' horizons. She also hoped that the new IMAHARA management could take this organization in a better direction and contribute more positively to society.
In her speech, Vice Dean I, Dr. Agusmidah S.H, M.Hum. emphasized that the most important thing in an organization is courage and mental strength, not just the number of members but the quality of good relationships between members. She also expressed the faculty's full support for various positive activities that IMAHARA will carry out in the future. At the end of her speech, Dr. Agusmidah congratulated the new board and hoped they could carry out their duties with dedication and high enthusiasm.
Grahat Nugraha S.H, M.H, as a speaker in the legal seminar themed 'Administrative Polemics and Agrarian Conflicts in the Development of the Archipelago's Capital City (IKN)' present through Zoom Meeting presented interesting material related to administration in the Archipelago's Capital City (IKN). He explained that one of the unique aspects of the administration in IKN is that the regional head, called the Head of the IKN Authority, is directly elected and dismissed by the president. In addition, the government of this regional head is not under the supervision of the DPRD in general but is directly supervised by the central DPR. This created a new model of governance in the history of democracy in Indonesia. Even other special regions in Indonesia remain under the supervision of the DPRD, making the IKN arrangement truly unique.
Grahat also highlighted the issue of discrimination in land acquisition for IKN development. He said that the state has not been entirely fair to the people, especially the people of Kalimantan, whose land is affected by the development. Many feel that they have lost their land rights, causing unrest in the local community. This issue, according to Grahat, should be a serious concern so that the development of IKN does not sacrifice the rights of local communities.
