The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH-USU) held an Online Dialogue activity with the Attorney of the Judicial Review Applicant of the Job Creation Law (UU Cipta Kerja) with the theme "Implications of the Constitutional Court Decision Number: 91/PPU-XVIII/2020 on the Implementing Regulations of the Job Creation Law. This activity, held spontaneously on the initiative of the lecturers of the USU Faculty of Law, was to respond to legal developments that occurred in connection with the Constitutional Court Decision Number 91/PPU-XVIII/2020. In the opening of the event, Dr. Detania Sukarja, SH., LLM, as the host, conveyed that through this dialogue, it is hoped that it can be a trigger for similar activities, which, of course, will also be carried out by various interested parties in various other forums. The dialogue session in this activity was guided by Dr. Afnila, SH., M.Hum, who acted as the moderator.
The online dialogue activity presented a resource person, the Attorney for the Applicant for the Judicial Review of the Job Creation Law, Febry Indra Gunawan Sitorus, SH, who is also an alumnus of the USU Faculty of Law. Participants who attended this dialogue event came from various elements, including academics, practitioners, and students from various levels of study programs. Participants who were actively involved in the dialogue included a professor of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Agus Sardjono, SH., MH, and Head of the USU Doctoral Program in Law, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH., M.Li.
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum, in his remarks while opening the event, said that this discussion forum was for dialogue and exchanging ideas regarding the Constitutional Court's Decision on the Job Creation Law, which was declared conditionally unconstitutional, of course,e there will be many things that we understand because this decision unquestionably has a significant impact. Of course, we want to see the future implications of this decision, especially since the Government and the Indonesian House of Representatives have been given two years to make corrections and improvements to the Job Creation Law, continued the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law.
