Humas-FH USU (August 12, 2026) – The Master of Notarial Law (MKN) Study Program of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), held a meeting to prepare for the upcoming semester as part of its efforts to ensure that the learning process in the odd semester runs optimally and in accordance with established academic standards.
The meeting discussed several key agendas, including course schedules and lecturers, course evaluation, curriculum and Semester Learning Plan (RPS) updates based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), thesis supervision, and preparations for student activities.

Regarding the odd-semester course schedule, it was reported that there would be no changes to the courses or assigned lecturers, except for an adjustment involving the addition of lecturers for courses previously taught by lecturers who have entered retirement.
In addition to technical preparations for lectures, the meeting also focused on evaluating the learning process. The evaluation covered the achievement of learning materials and teaching methods, various challenges encountered during lectures, and student attendance. This evaluation serves as an important component in maintaining and improving the quality of education within the Master of Notarial Law Study Program.

In terms of academic development, the MKN Study Program also discussed updating the curriculum and RPS using the OBE approach, as well as integrating SDG values into the educational process. The meeting highlighted several Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Meanwhile, thesis supervision was also an important topic, particularly regarding the duration of supervision, the incorporation of SDGs into students’ theses, and efforts to encourage students to complete their studies on time.
The meeting also discussed preparations for and students’ readiness to participate in student competitions as part of efforts to develop their potential and strengthen student activities.
Through this preparatory meeting, the Master of Notarial Law Study Program of FH USU reaffirmed its commitment to continuously evaluating and strengthening the learning process, curriculum development, thesis supervision, and student activities. These efforts are expected to support the delivery of high-quality, adaptive postgraduate education in notarial law, with a focus on graduate competencies and sustainable development.
