The 46th Anniversary celebration forms part of an educational event series organized by BANI Medan alongside various key stakeholders. Beyond strengthening social ties, the program aims to introduce the pivotal role of arbitration as a non-litigation forum for business dispute resolution in Indonesia. Following the Healthy Walk, BANI Medan is scheduled to host a National Seminar on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 08:30 to 12:00 WIB.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Executives of BANI Medan, Prof. Dr. Tan Kamello, S.H., M.S., FCBArb., FIIArb., along with the Chairman and Secretary of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Azwir Agus, S.H., M.Hum., and Dr. Abdul Haris Nasution, S.H., M.Kn. The presence of the board members and committee leaders added to the lively atmosphere of BANI Medan's 46th Anniversary celebration alongside all participants.
In his address, the Dean of FH USU invited all attendees to offer prayers for the founders of BANI, the late Prof. Mahadi and the late Prof. Mariam Darus, that they be granted the best place with Almighty God.
He noted that the morning's activities successfully strengthened bonds among participants—from walking together and conversing to greeting one another and sharing a meal. He highlighted this event series as an expression of gratitude for BANI's 46-year journey.
"On behalf of Universitas Sumatera Utara, particularly the leadership of the Faculty of Law USU, we express our heartfelt congratulations on the 46th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Board of Arbitration," he stated.

The Dean emphasized that BANI's presence deserves ongoing support due to its vital role in the pursuit of justice, particularly in attracting investment. One of the main concerns for business actors and investors, he noted, is an efficient, reliable, cost-effective, and fair dispute resolution mechanism.
"BANI stands ready to fulfill those exact expectations," he added.
The Dean declared that the university fully supports BANI and opens broad opportunities for collaboration. One key initiative includes expanding public awareness of arbitration among business communities by leveraging FH USU's cooperative networks across strategic areas, such as the Medan Industrial Zone (KIM) and the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (KEK).
Concluding his speech, the Dean reiterated his anniversary greetings to BANI Medan. He expressed hope that as BANI approaches half a century of operation, it will continue to play an increasingly effective role in resolving disputes within its scope of competence.
