The 2026 Faculty of Law Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) Summer Course officially concluded on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Following four days of intensive academic sessions, collaborative discussions, and educational visits, all participants successfully completed the program and commenced their journeys back to their respective countries.
Held from October 19–22, 2026, the FH USU Summer Course carried the central theme "Law and Disaster: Lessons Learned in Emergency Management." The event brought together international participants from Yemen, Pakistan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nigeria, and China, alongside domestic students from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) at the Faculty of Law USU.
Throughout the program, participants expanded their perspectives on the role of law in disaster management, emergency responses, and legal protection for disaster-affected populations. Cross-border knowledge exchange and shared experiences served as vital components in building mutual understanding of global humanitarian and legal challenges during crisis situations.

Beyond formal academic sessions, participants actively engaged in interactive activities and educational visits showcasing the rich history, culture, and local wisdom of North Sumatra. These experiences allowed international delegates to connect closely with local cultural identity while building cross-national friendships and global cooperation.
To conclude the event, participants were accompanied to Kualanamu International Airport for their return flights. The send-off delegation was led by the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Mohammad Ekaputra, S.H., M.Hum., alongside the Secretary of the Master's Program in Law USU, Dr. Rosmalinda, S.H., LL.M. The departure of the participants marks the successful completion of an event designed not only to strengthen academic knowledge, but also to build international networks, foster cultural exchange, and raise awareness of global legal issues. The experience gained throughout the Summer Course is expected to serve as valuable insight for participants in developing their academic and professional capacities worldwide.
