Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the USU Doctoral Program in Law Studies have a great opportunity to become competent legal experts, legal researchers, and state legal officials who will play a significant role in the advancement of law in Indonesia. Students who have completed this study program will hold the Doctor (Dr.) degree.

Learning Outcomes
1 Able to discover or develop new scientific theories/concepts/ideas, contribute to the development and practice of science and/or technology that pay attention to and apply humanities values in their field of expertise by producing scientific research based on scientific methodology, logical, critical, systematic, and creative thinking.
2 Able to compile interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary research, including theoretical and/or experimental studies in the fields of science, technology, art, and innovation, as outlined in the form of dissertations and papers that have been published in reputable international journals.
3 Able to choose research that is appropriate, current, advanced, and provides benefits to humanity through an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approach in order to develop and/or produce problem solving in the fields of science, technology, art, or society based on the results of a study of the availability of internal and external resources.
4 Able to develop a research roadmap with an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approach based on a study of the main objectives of the research and its constellation in broader targets.
5 Able to compile scientific, technological, or artistic arguments and solutions based on critical views of facts, concepts, principles, or theories that can be accounted for scientifically and in academic ethics, and communicate them through mass media or directly to society.
6 Able to show academic leadership in managing, developing, and fostering resources and organizations under their responsibility.
7 Able to manage research data and information under his purview, including storing, auditing, safeguarding, and retrieving it.
8 Able to develop and maintain collegial and peer relationships within their own environment or through collaborative networks with research communities outside the institution.
9 Master legal reasoning methods as a whole and in depth by applying sociological, juridical, and philosophical thinking methods which become the basis for developing, expanding, deepening, or discovering new and original things in the field of law.
10 Master the philosophy of law that underlies the theory of certain legal fields, which becomes the main study material as a whole and in depth as the development of legal science.
11 Master normative and/or empirical legal research methods with an inter-, multi-, and transdisciplinary approach.
