The MPR RI Study Agency entrusted the USU Faculty of Law to participate in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity on the Inauguration of the President and/or Vice President and the MPR Annual Session. The focused discussion activity, which took place at the Santika Hotel, Medan, was to provide perspective and legal basis for the authority of the MPR RI, especially regarding the implementation of the President and Vice President and the implementation of the MPR RI Annual Session.

In his remarks, the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law expressed his gratitude to the MPR RI Study Agency for their trust in the Universitas Sumatera Utara, especially the USU Faculty of Law, to organize this FGD. The Dean said, "The inauguration and taking of the oath of the President and Vice President are very fundamental legal acts because they are ordered by the highest formal legal source, whether this very fundamental legal act must be realized in a legal product in the form of an MPR Decree or not, this is one of the focuses of today's discussion," said the Dean on the sidelines of his remarks.

The focused discussion activity was attended by the leaders and members of Group I of the MPR RI Study Agency, including from the PDI Perjuangan Faction, Drs. Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Ir. Mindo Sianipar, from the Gerindra Faction; H. Romo Muhammad Syafi'i, from the PKB Faction; H. Dedi Wahidi, from the Nasdem Party Faction; Moh. Haerul Amri, S.P, and from the DPD, Drs. H. Ahmad Bastian SY and Maria Goreti, S.Sos., M.Si. Meanwhile, from the USU Faculty of Law, there were resource persons Dr. Faisal Akbar Nasution, SH., M.Hum, Yusrin, SH., M.Hum, Dr. Eka N.A.M. Sihombing, SH. , M.Hum, and USU Political Science Lecturer, Indra Fauzan, SHI, M.Soc.Sc., Ph.D.
