The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, in collaboration with the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI), held a Unit Link Life Insurance Seminar in Indonesia with the theme "Understanding Legal Aspects, Benefits, and Risks," which took place at the USU Faculty of Law Moot Court building. This seminar is a realization of the collaboration between the USU Faculty of Law and AAJI, as stated in the MOA that has been signed by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum and the Chairman of the AAJI Board of Directors, Budi Tampubolon, the signing took place before the seminar was held. Previously, in the same event, the USU Rector, represented by Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Sc., Apt, together with the Chairman of the AAJI Board of Directors, signed the MOU between USU and AAJI.
The Unit Link Life Insurance Seminar in Indonesia, with the theme "Understanding Legal Aspects, Benefits, and Risks," presented speakers Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, SH., M.Hum, Dr. Ricardo Simanjuntak, SH., LL.M., MCIArb, and Dr. Mulahdi, SH., M.Hum. Dr. Syarifah Lisa Andraiti, SH., M.Hum hosted the seminar. The seminar participants were undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students of law, legal practitioners, and judges.
Vice Rector III of USU, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Sc., Apt., in the opportunity to give a welcoming speech and open the seminar, said that the seminar was helpful in increasing understanding regarding life insurance. Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa expressed the hope that implementing this collaboration could support the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program.
In his remarks, Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum, said that after the signing of the cooperation, the activities to be realized can be discussed more efficiently. Regarding the theme of the seminar, the Dean said that the community still has minimal literacy and education about various insurance products, so this seminar theme can educate the community about insurance so that they know the legal implications and risks in addition to the benefits contained in life insurance.
