Public Relations FH-USU: On Tuesday (06/02/2024), Professor of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), Prof. Dr. OK. Saidin, SH., M.Hum, was inaugurated by the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham), Prof. Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly, S.H., M.Sc., Ph.D., as a Member of the Trademark Appeals Commission for the 2024-2027 period. He was accompanied by 15 other members of the Trademark Appeals Commission and 20 members of the Patent Appeals Commission, held at Graha Pengayoman, the Secretariat General Building of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Trademark Appeals Commission is a special independent body within the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia, with its membership comprising a chairman doubling as a member, a vice-chairman doubling as a member, experts in the field of trademarks, and a senior Trademark Examiner. The existence of both the patent appeals commission and the trademark appeals commission is to provide legal certainty for appellants who object to the rejection of their applications submitted to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. OK. Saidin has been serving as the Chair of the Master of Law Program at FH USU since 2021. Additionally, he has been entrusted with the position of Chair of the Indonesian Intellectual Property Teachers Association (APHKI) for two consecutive periods.
