Public Relations FH-USU: On Monday (12/06/2023), the Faculty of Law USU hosted the summer course Program 2023 on The Politics of Death Penalty in Indonesia. This program scheduled a special meeting featuring expert speakers Prof. Dr. Alvi Syahrin; SH.,MS , Dr. Mahmud Mulyadi, SH.,M.Hum , Dr. Afnila, SH.,M.Hum , dan Dr. Utary Maharany Barus, SH.,M.Hum. This Summer Course was held at Magister of Law USU. This summer course is the second edition after being first held in the 2022 Summer Course Program, which was successfully held with the topic Rakut Sitelu.
The Summer Course Program was dominated by students from Jindal Global University, India; it was the implementation of their co-ordinated working program after signing the agreement between the Law faculty of USU and Jindal Global University, India. Summer Course Program is one of the most significant ingredients for assessing internationalization, which is student mobility.
The Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships of USU, Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T., in his speech, expressed his pride in the USU Faculty of Law for consistently promoting the topic of local wisdom for two consecutive years at the international level.
Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum said "the topic was discussed the politics of death penalty law in Indonesia, throughout the punishment has not been applied in various countries, for this program will present various perspectives from experts in relation to the topic". The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law also expected that a series of summer courses in 2023 could maintain our focus on a particular topic of local wisdom for longer times and always be in line with sustainable development goals.
