Thursday (21/10/2021) The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority of the Republic of Indonesia (OJK RI) held a public lecture webinar for students and academicians of FH USU. The public lecture with the theme Introduction to OJK and the Field of Consumer Education and Protection was held online through a Zoom meeting attended by 450 participants. The Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. in his remarks as well as opening the event, said that the OJK (Financial Services Authority) was given the mandate and authority to maintain Indonesia's financial stability, one of its important roles was regarding Financial Services Consumer Protection.

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority of the Republic of Indonesia (OJK RI), held a public lecture webinar for students and academicians of FH USU. The public lecture with the theme Introduction to OJK and the Field of Consumer Education and Protection was held online through a Zoom meeting attended by 450 participants. The Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. in his remarks as well as opening the event, said that the OJK (Financial Services Authority) was given the mandate and authority to maintain Indonesia's financial stability, one of its essential roles was regarding Financial Services Consumer Protection.

 

The public lecture session was guided by Moderator M. Hadyan Yunhas Purba, S.H., M.H. (USU Faculty of Law Lecturer) with the first speaker, Head of the Financial Literacy and Inclusion Department, Kristrianti Puji Rahayu, material entitled Introduction to OJK and the EPK Field and the second speaker, Head of the Financial Services Sector Investigation Department, Togam Lumban Tobing, material on Illegal Investment Alert. Also attending this activity were Vice Dean I of FH USU, Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum. Angrei Romario S. M. Habayahan from the OJK RI Financial Services Sector Investigation Department, and Renhad Gultom from the OJK RI DLIK division.

 

The public lecture program, which lasted from 13.30 WIB until 16.00 WIB, ended with an invitation to all parties, both the community and academics and practitioners, to understand better the application of consumer protection functions in transparency, fair treatment, reliability, confidentiality, and security of consumer data/information, as well as handling complaints and resolving consumer disputes.
