The Bachelor of Law Study Program (Prodi S1 Ilmu Hukum) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) presented some of the best alumni of FH USU as speakers in a public lecture with the theme “Potential Trade Markets and Indonesian Trade Diplomacy with Australia.” The speakers in this public lecture activity were the Director of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center in Sydney (ITPC Sydney) Austrasila, Former Indonesian Trade Attache, Embassy of Indonesia in Ottawa, Canada, Chirthophorus Barutu, SH., M.H and Advocat Law Offices Jun Cai and Partners, Jun Cai, SH., M.Hum.
Also attending this activity was the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, Deputy Dean I, Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum, Chairperson and Secretary of the S1 Law Study Program, Dr. Yefrizawati, SH, M.Hum, and Dr. Afilla, SH, M.Hum, lecturers, and public lecture participants consisting of S1 and S2 Law Students.
The Dean of FH USU, in his remarks, said, “There are 3 important things from this kind of activity, namely the first is the tradition that we are currently developing, namely ‘back home’ where alumni who have competence, skills, and qualified experience return to campus to share knowledge on campus to add insight and inspire younger students. Second, Consolidation with alumni to strengthen our brotherhood to jointly build our beloved campus for the better in the future, and the third is that this activity is also, of course, for the benefit of the faculty's reputation because several programs related to faculty reputation, Key Performance Indicators (IKU) include bringing practitioners to campus and bringing alumni to move on campus, bringing the campus closer to the industrial world which of course our industry is an industry related to the field or legal profession, “said Dr. Mahmul Siregar.
The speakers, Christhophorus Barutu, SH, M.H, in his presentation, delivered material entitled “Mission to Increase Exports of Indonesian Products in the Australian Market,” and Jun Cai, SH, M.Hum presented material entitled “E-Commerce Exists, MSMEs Succeed: A New Beginning, Legal Aspects for MSME Business Actors with the Closing of TiktokShop in Indonesia.”
