Dean of the Faculty of Law of USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, said about this second PPM. This second PPM is part of supporting MBKM. This program is not something new. Previously, the PERMATA (Nusantara Student Exchange) program already existed, and the concept differs from the current second PPM. As part of the Merdeka Learning Campus, this second PPM has two main objectives: 1. Academic field 2. Non-academic field.
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law said that this second PPM nationally has a target of 16 thousand registrants for all of Indonesia; this second PPM program that students participate in will also affect the reputation assessment of the Faculty, now the performance at the Faculty is assessed nationally to place the Faculty's position in the ranks of Higher Education Study Programs throughout Indonesia both internationally and nationally, one of the KPI Parameters, one of the assessments is related to how active the Faculty is, as much as the participation of students in the Merdeka Belajar Program, one of which is the Merdeka Student Exchange Program.
The faculty has a target number of students who can participate in the second PPM, and this target is part of the faculty's overall performance. For the International Exchange IISMA Program, the Faculty experienced an increase this year, placing 3 (three) people at various universities. Overseas. The same degree program followed, there is no difference only in the difference in place for this independent student exchange, currently the exchange of students between islands; the current education system is very much different from the previous education model, in the independent learning program, we are more directed to not only create/make students have academic knowledge in the field studied but more on the actual character building.
