HUMAS FH-USU: Tuesday (20/02/2024), enlivening the series of activities in the framework of the 70th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH-USU), a National Seminar with the topic "Convergence of General Courts and State Administrative Courts in Settling Disputes over Government Unlawful Acts" was held, located in the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) FH USU room.

The National Seminar which took place in a hybrid manner presented speakers Prof. Dr. Supandi, S.H., M.Hum (Alumni of FH USU - Deputy Chief of Administrative Court of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2016-2022 Period) and Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, S.H., M.Hum (Professor of the Faculty of Law USU) with participants from various circles including students, academic community, practitioners and legal observers. The seminar was hosted by FH USU students, Dinda Yunisa and Kemi Suranta Tarigan as MCs and moderated by FH USU lecturer, Afrita, S.H., M.Hum.

The activity began with the report of the Seminar Team Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, S.H., M.Hum together with the Deputy Team Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Rosnidar, S.H., M.Hum. Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum in his remarks as well as opening the event expressed his hope that this seminar activity could spark student enthusiasm and train critical thinking on legal issues that are currently developing.

Various critical thoughts and questions were born from the 200+ audiences who actively participated both offline and online. There were even some questions that had not been answered due to time constraints. This illustrates to us that the topic raised is certainly very interesting so that it gets high enthusiasm from all seminar participants who attend.

This national seminar gave birth to the idea that in order to avoid convergence of judicial authority between the General Court and the PTUN, it is necessary to revise the PTUN Law by including the substance of PERMA No. 2 of 2019 and SEMA No. 2 of 2019.
