The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara(FH USU) represented by Dr. Agusmidah, S.H., M.Hum together with the Community Service (Abdimas) collaboration team from other institutions and universities, namely P3HKI (Association of Indonesian Employment Law Teachers and Practitioners), UMY Community Service Institute, UMY Masters Program Law Study Program, Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta Masters Program, Gunung Jati College Tangerang, University of Muhammadiyah Mataram in collaboration with the Indonesian Community Organization (PERMAI) Pulau Pinang Malaysia held an International Community Service activity entitled: "PROTECTION OF INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS ABROAD FROM THE POINT OF HUMAN RIGHTS". This activity aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the rights and obligations of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). The implementation of this International Community Service has been an annual agenda since 2023 which was held in Hong Kong and in 2024 it was held in Brunei Darussa

 

Public Relations FH-USU: Rabu (16/04/2025), The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara(FH USU) represented by Dr. Agusmidah, S.H., M.Hum together with the Community Service (Abdimas) collaboration team from other institutions and universities, namely P3HKI (Association of Indonesian Employment Law Teachers and Practitioners), UMY Community Service Institute, UMY Masters Program Law Study Program, Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta Masters Program, Gunung Jati College Tangerang, University of Muhammadiyah Mataram in collaboration with the Indonesian Community Organization (PERMAI) Pulau Pinang Malaysia held an International Community Service activity entitled: "PROTECTION OF INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS ABROAD FROM THE POINT OF HUMAN RIGHTS". The community service team in this international collaboration consists of 15 people, chaired by Prof. Dr. Yeni Widowaty, SH., M.Hum from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and several members, namely Prof. Dr. Fithriatus Shalihah, SH, M.H from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Nurjanah Septyanun, SH, M.H from Muhammadiyah Universitas Mataram, Ahmad Anshory, SH, M.Hum from STIH Gunung Jati Tangerang, and Dr. Nanik Prasetyoningsih, SH., M.H., Drs. Mujiyana, SH., M.Sc. , and Farhan Senoaji, ST. from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta

 

In the legal counseling session, Dr. Agusmidah explained the legal protection of PMI and their families for safe migration. In her counseling, Dr. Agusmidah provided legal education about the placement of PMI by increasing legal awareness of PMI working abroad. Dr. Agusmidah also presented souvenirs from the USU FH to the Secretariat of PERMAI (Indonesian Community Organization) Pulau Pinang, namely a book by Dr. Agusmidah and friends entitled "Social Security System Post-Job Creation Law" and a book chapter published by P3HKI.

 

 

On the same occasion, the community service team was also received at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, by Consul Yulisdiyah Kartika Nuswapadi, along with Consul 1 for Social and Cultural Information, Dadang Rahmat, Consul II for Social and Cultural Information, Prima Januar Sastrawiria, and several staff of the KJRI Pulau Pinang.
