Public Relations FH-USU: Friday (24/01/2025), Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A was officially inaugurated as a Permanent Professor of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) with a specialization in Customary Land Law. The inauguration was led by USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, and occurred at the USU Student Center.
In his inaugural speech entitled “Dead Chicken in the Granary: Pieces of History of the Buried Customary Land of the Malay People on the East Coast of North Sumatra,” Prof. Edy Ikhsan emphasized the importance of the contribution of science in the academic field. He read an oration that aimed to increase understanding of the history of the Malay customary land on the east coast of North Sumatra.
On the same day after the inauguration ceremony of Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A., as a form of gratitude, FH USU held a thanksgiving event, which took place at the FH USU Hall.
The Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum. expressed his gratitude for the great achievement achieved by Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A as a professor in the field of customary law and land. The Dean emphasized that this success can inspire other lecturers to continue to develop knowledge and increase collaboration.
In his remarks, vice-Rector II of USU, Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP., said, “Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A. is an activist who has successfully transformed into a qualified academic.
Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A on the occasion of the guest greeting, revealed that his next challenge is, in addition to fulfilling his position as Vice Rector I related to the core business of the university, namely the academic field, students and alumni, he must also focus on writing and research.
