FH USU PR: On Friday (11/06/2021), the board of the Dean's Office of Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) organized an online Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Focused Discussion for Developing the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM)." Various stakeholders, including graduate employers such as the Prosecutor's Office, PERADI, PTPN III, KPPU, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), industry representatives, alums, and students, attended the event.

The event opened with remarks by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum., who highlighted that the comprehensive deconstruction of the Faculty of Law curriculum was essential to align with the government's Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. This program allows students to gain knowledge and hands-on experiences outside the classroom. The Dean stressed that collaboration with stakeholders is crucial to developing an academically rigorous curriculum while addressing graduate employers' needs and keeping pace with practical advancements.

The Dean expressed his appreciation to the stakeholders, hoping the outcomes would benefit students, contribute positively to society, and serve as a virtuous initiative.

Vice Dean I of FH USU, Dr. Agusmidah, SH., M.Hum., presented findings from surveys conducted among users, alums, and students. These findings and discussions in the FGD will be used to draft the new curriculum. The draft will undergo further evaluation in collaboration with the Educational Services and Development Unit (UPP) at USU before being finalized.

The event concluded with a discussion and Q&A session moderated by M. Hadyan Yunhas Purba, SH., MH.
