Public Relations FH-USU: Thursday (28/10/2021)
The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) and the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENKOMINFO RI), Directorate General of Informatics Applications collaborated in organizing a Public Discussion with the theme “Strengthening Human Rights Protection Parameters in the Application of Illegal Content Regulations in the ITE Law.” The public lecture was held online and offline at Grand Cityhall Medan.
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. in his remarks, expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to KEMENKOMINFO RI, Directorate General of Informatics Applications for providing opportunities and trust to FH USU to collaborate in organizing public lecture activities. This collaboration has an essential meaning for FH USU, apart from being a form of implementing the tri dharma of higher education, increasing reputation, and efforts to improve the competence of lecturers and students, but what is also very important is that through cooperation like this, the campus contributes thoughts to solve problems of society, nationality, and statehood, continued the Dean of FH in his remarks.
This public discussion presented resource persons from KEMENKOMINFO RI, the Minister for Legal Affairs expert staff, and Prof.Dr.Henri Subiakto, SH., M.Hum and Criminal Law Expert of FH USU, Dr.Mahmud Mulyadi, SH., M.Hum. The Coordinator of the Legal and Cooperation Section of the Directorate General of Informatics Applications of KOMINFO, Josua Sitompul, SH, MM, Ph.D acted as moderator in the public discussion. After the presentation of the material by the resource person, the session continued with a response session by the public discussion respondents, Dr. Rosmalinda, SH, M.Hum, Dr. Mulyadi, M.Hum, and Mohammad Fadly Syah Putra, M.Sc.IT. Public discussion participants included academics, law enforcement, local government, and students. (Laks/sad/sug)
