The House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), together with the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU Faculty of Law) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to Inventory the Impact of the Constitutional Court Decision Number 91 / PUU-XVIII / 2020 for the Implementation of the Job Creation Law in the Regions. This activity was held at the USU Faculty of Law in the Advisory Board Room (DPF) of the USU Faculty of Law.
In his remarks, the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, hoped that later, the DPD RI would further discuss and make recommendations to the Indonesian House of Representatives or to the Government so that the implementation of the Law and its improvements could accommodate regional interests and involve wider participation of local communities, local governments, and various other stakeholders.
Vice Chairman II of the Special Committee for Job Creation of DPD RI, Dr. H. Dedi Iskandar Batubara, S.Sos., SH., M.SP, in his remarks and opening the event, said that this meeting gave birth to critical notes that would be used as material by DPD RI to formulate views and recommendations that would then be discussed with the Government.
In this activity, the USU Faculty of Law presented 2 (two) resource persons from the USU Faculty of Law Lecturers, namely Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH, M. Hum, and Dr. Faisal Akbar, SH, M. Hum. The focused discussion session was guided by Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M. Hum, who acted as moderator.
