"I support this activity, it certainly provides benefits for various groups. Mainly ahead of the elections and regional elections that raise research related to young voters called Generation Z," said the USU Raktor. According to him, the study of Generation Z is important to answer whether the consolidation of our democracy will continue or run in place. Furthermore, the USU Rector said "Golden Indonesia 2045 is a process that will be realized through good democratic consolidation". 'If the research conducted by PKAK FH USU finds that generation Z is still seen in money politics, then the golden Indonesia of 2045 will be difficult to realize, if generation Z is willing to accept money to vote, it means there is still a problem. The consolidation of democracy is still long and the Golden Indonesia of 2045 is still difficult," explained the USU Rector.

Head of Research, Dr. Detania Sukaraja, SH.LLM in her presentation said "novice voters called, Gen Z will use their voting rights in the 2024 elections and elections and similar momentum that will be held periodically". The purpose of the research is to analyze the perception of Gen Z as a beginner voter related to the practice of money politics and the right to vote in North Sumatra in the 2024 Election and analyze the factors that influence Gen Z's choice in choosing as the first voter in North Sumatra. The method used in the research is a mixed method or mixed method that combines quantitative methods with qualitative methods taking place in 7 regencies / cities and several universities. According to Dr. Detania Sukarja, first-time voters realize that their right to vote is a legal right guaranteed by the constitution and will support Indonesia's democratic development process. "Novice voters also show a positive response to strategic issues such as public health, education, environment, climate change, defense and security, infrastructure development, long-term development programs and governance in determining their political choices," said the lead researcher.
