the Faculty of Law of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) in the framework of the 70th Anniversary again carried out Alumni Teaching activities with the theme "Crime of Sexual Violence", by presenting a very competent resource person in the field of Law, namely Dr. Ahmad Sofian, SH., M.A.

HUMAS USU- Wednesday (21/02/2024), the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) in the framework of the 70th Anniversary again carried out Alumni Teaching activities with the theme "Crime of Sexual Violence", by presenting a very competent resource person in the field of Law, namely Dr. Ahmad Sofian, SH., M.A. . The Alumni Teaching activity which was held like a Public Lecture (Studium Generale) was guided by FH USU Lecturer, Dr. Aflah, SH., M.Hum who acted as moderator and FH USU student, Jesslyn Elisandra Harefa as Master of Ceremony.

 

The activity was opened by the Coordinator of the Seminar / Webinar / Alumni Teaching Team, Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, S.H., M.Hum. Attended by FH USU Lecturers, Alumni, and also more than 80 students. Activities are carried out online using zoom meetings. Even though it was held online, this public lecture process received tremendous enthusiasm from the participants. During the presentation of the material, Dr. Ahmad Sofian, SH, M.A., gave questions / quizzes in the form of legal cases so as to invite participants who attended to think in analyzing the case. Then the resource person has also prepared a book prize if there is a correct answer, which the book is written by the resource person himself in which there is a signature and photo of the resource person directly as a form of gift from the Alumni.

 

This Public Lecture aims to educate the participants who attended related to the crime of sexual violence with a focal point on Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence, namely on Electronic Based Sexual Violence. "It is very important to maintain digital footprints in the current era," said the speaker when delivering the material. It is also hoped that after the presentation of the material it can become a guideline for participants to remain concerned with more positive social media content.
