Student of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Sarah Pia Desideria Panjaitan, was selected as the Indonesian delegate at the 2nd ASEAN - India Youth Summit 2019, which took place in February 2019, in Guwahati, Assam, India.

The ASEAN-India Youth Summit was organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) / Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India & India Foundation, which is an independent research center that focuses on the problems, challenges, and opportunities of the Indian government (indiafoundation.in) and of course together with ASEAN. Previously, the Youth Summit was held in Bhopal, India, in 2017. It was held again in 2019 with the theme "Connectivity: Pathway to Shared Prosperity," which aims to provide a platform for Indian youth leaders and ASEAN youth to engage with each other to develop strong and symbiotic relationships between countries.

After being selected as a delegate and leaving for India, Sarah was appointed as a delegate for a presentation about Indonesia. She received a positive response from all participants from various countries. Not long after the India-Asean Youth Summit, Sarah was again selected as an Indonesian delegate in Thailand's YEND (Young Entrepreneur Development) Plus Program, which was organized by the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce (Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand) in collaboration with Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University.

After participating in various conferences, in 2016, Sarah was also selected as Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan Sumatera Utara, which collaborated with the North Sumatra provincial government in bringing the name of the province and the campus to various regions in Indonesia. Currently, in addition to being an active student at USU, Sarah is also undergoing preparations to become the Young Ambassador of ASEAN and the Young Ambassador for Diplomatic Relations between Indonesia and the United States of America. Please pray for and support her. Hopefully, this information can inspire all Universitas Sumatera Utara students to bring the good name of the university and Indonesia to the world.
