The Faculty of Law Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) visited the Faculty of Law Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The delegation of FH USU was led by Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH, MLI, with delegation members consisting of the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, Vice Dean I, Dr. Agusmidah, SH,, M.Hum, Head of Master of Law Study Program, Prof. Dr. Saidin, SH, M.Hum, Secretary of Doctor of Law Study Program, Dr. T. Keizerina Devi, SH, M.Hum, CN and Secretary of Master of Law Study Program, Dr. Mahmud Mulyadi, SH, M.Hum.
During the visit, the FH USU delegation was officially received by representatives of Vrije Universiteit and representatives of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Wendelien Tuijp and Dr. Simbarashe Maguchu (Director of International Institutional Relations, Faculty of Law Vrije Universitet). The FH USU delegation was allowed to see the main campus environment and the School of Law campus, including seeing various learning facilities and infrastructure, ongoing classes, and getting various explanations about the learning process, learning method, curriculum, and various international collaborations established by the School of Law Vrije Universiteit.
The meeting during this visit gave positive results and could impact the development of the USU Faculty of Law, which was preparing itself for international recognition. In this meeting, several commitments were obtained for further collaboration, including organizing guest lecturers, top scientist webinars, collaborative research/studies, summer courses both online and offline, and international peer review. Collaborative academic activities are also planned to cover the scientific fields of anti-money laundering law, anti-corruption law, and international business law in general.
The visit and meeting between the Faculty of Law USU and the Faculty of Law Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is part of a series of visits and meetings that will be carried out by the USU Faculty of Law delegation. While in the Netherlands, the FH USU delegation will conduct visits and meetings with the Faculty of Law Vrije Universiteit, Van Vollenhoven Institute, Universiteit Leiden, the Netherlands, and the Faculty of Law, Maastricht University, Maastricht, the Netherlands.
