a number of important functions, including educational functions, special development of the lawyer, aspirations, perceptions and interpretations. Law No.1 of 2023 is a very complex legal product because it contains the characteristics of renewal, legal ideals, values, principles and spirit which are in many ways different from the Colonial Heritage Criminal Code. Therefore, it is understood that the formulation of its legal principles was colored by a number of differences of opinion. However, we also understand that there is no perfect legal product. The imperfections will be perfected by judges, law enforcement officials, legal experts in the process of law enforcement," said the Dean in his remarks.

Chairman of MAHUPIKI North Sumatra, Dr. Rizkan Zulyadi in his remarks said, the new Criminal Code Law is a legal product and the work of the nation's children. Although it has been passed, the new Criminal Code Law still reaps the pros and cons related to articles that are considered to curb human rights. "We must be proud that this Criminal Code is the product of the nation's children and one of the differences between the new Criminal Code is that it contains a balance between human rights and their obligations. This means that the aspects discussed are not only how we demand human rights, but also discuss the obligations, "said the Chairperson of MAHUPIKI SUMUT.
