The Faculty of Law of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) organized the Faculty of Law USU Alumni Gathering in 2024 with the theme “Alumni Network For Better Future”, which took place at Grandhika Hotel Medan.
Secretary of USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)-Fer. in his speech, expressed the importance of the role of Alumni in supporting the development of the faculty and university as a whole, “the role of Alumni can support the achievements of the faculty as well as provide a positive influence for new graduates who want to pursue careers in various industrial sectors”. The USU Secretary hopes that the Alumni will continue to contribute to improving the university's reputation at the national and international levels in line with USU's strategic goals to achieve international recognition.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M. Hum, in his speech, said that the 1989 Alumni will renovate the FH USU Moot Court courtroom in collaboration with the FH USU Alumni Family Association (IKA) to improve campus facilities. The Dean of FH USU also highlighted the low participation of Alumni in the QS WUR survey, which only reached 71 to 79 respondents.
The Chairperson of IKA FH USU for the 2022 - 2026 Period, Hasrul Benny Harahap, S.H., M.Hum, conveyed the main purpose of this activity as a gathering event for Alumni while discussing the role of Alumni in supporting the ranking of FH USU in particular. The Chairperson of IKA FH USU emphasized the importance of consolidation and alumni involvement in advancing alma mater.
The speaker at this event, Internationalization Program Manager Prof. Rikson Asman Fertiles Siburian, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., said that with the presence of Alumni from various generations, it is hoped that this event will generate innovative ideas that can be applied to advance the faculty and university and strengthen the role of alumni.
