Medan, December 13, 2017
University Alumni Community meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Law USU (Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH., M.Hum) will hold a limited seminar on drug prevention on Thursday, December 21, 2017. The seminar was conducted as a form of concern over the increasing drug abuse in the country. Indonesia is included as a country in a state of drug emergency, with deaths reaching 50 people per day, and has around 5 million drug abusers. President Joko Widodo, in his direction at the commemoration of International Drug Day (HANI), issued an order to declare war on drugs, with a program to prevent abuse carried out more intensively from the center to the regions, measurable and sustainable.
The purpose of this Limited Seminar is:
Provide the latest information on Drug Products and their variants. The rapid development of drugs, which every month gives rise to dozens of new variants, must be balanced with the latest information so that law enforcement officers are not caught off guard and left behind on the latest information on drug products.
Establishing a Drug Prevention Education House that provides all the needed information, including a library, museum, and website on preventing drug abuse that can be easily accessed.
Forming "volunteer" teams with sufficient knowledge to provide education regularly, distributing the latest information brochures to schools and crowded places.
Creating anti-drug networks to help law enforcement officers provide prevention information.
Hopefully, this seminar activity can help provide information to the younger generation so that they can fortify themselves from the deadly temptation of drugs.
