The Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum, accompanied by Vice Dean III, Mohammad Ekaputra, S.H., M.Hum and Dean Expert Staff, Boy Laksamana, SH., M.Hum visited the Office of the Board of Directors of PT Kawasan Industri Nusantara (PT. KINRA) in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) Sei. Mangkei, Bosar Maligas District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra. The visit was received by the Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) of Operation of PT KINRA, Alwin Abdi, together with Finance and Accounting Manager Achmad Fadly and Legal Staff, Revondy Brahmana.
PT KINRA is a subsidiary of the state-owned company PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), which is assigned as the manager of the Sei Special Economic Zone (SEZ). SEZ Sei. Mangkei, managed by PT KINRA, is a business development approach in the form of a special economic zone for the center of industrial activities based on palm oil and rubber. SEZ Sei. Mangkei was established based on PP No. 29 of 2012, dated February 27, 2012, and is the first SEZ to operate in Indonesia.
In this visit meeting, the Dean of FH USU conveyed several University Work Programs and Faculty of Law Work Programs that have the potential to collaborate with PT. KINRA, such as MBKM, and various activities within the scope of the tri dharma of higher education and expertise owned by FH USU. “The Faculty of Law has human resources with expertise that PT KINRA can utilize to assist PT KINRA in matters relating to law in Indonesia and the region,” said the Dean. SEVP Operation of PT KINRA, Alwin Abdi, in his remarks, said: “PT KINRA welcomes the arrival of the FH USU team to stay in touch and discuss various matters to find potential collaborations that might be developed, in addition to the MBKM program, PT KINRA is interested in developing cooperation with FH USU in various activities, especially for the use of human resource expertise owned by FH USU.”
Various potential cooperation programs can be developed from the cooperation between FH USU and PT. KINRA, including internship programs, seminars, joint research, community service, and utilization of legal consulting services from FH USU.
