The seminar was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Runtung, SH., M.Hum., accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH., M.Hum. Also present were Vice Dean I, Prof. Dr. OK. Saidin, SH., M.Hum., Vice Dean II, Puspa Melati Hasibuan, SH., M.Hum., Vice Dean III, Dr. Jelly Leviza, SH., M.Hum., along with all Heads and Secretaries of Departments, the Master's and Doctoral Study Programs in Law, and the Master's Program in Notary within the Faculty of Law USU.

In celebration of the 64th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH-USU), the Faculty of Law collaborated with the National Board of the Indonesian Advocates Association (DPN PERADI) to organize an international seminar on Monday, April 23, 2018, held at the USU Student Center Building. The seminar carried the theme:
"Internationalizing Business Movement in the Globalization of Markets and Economics from the Perspective of Indonesian Business Law."

 

The seminar was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Runtung, SH., M.Hum., accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH., M.Hum. Also in attendance were Vice Dean I, Prof. Dr. OK. Saidin, SH., M.Hum., Vice Dean II, Puspa Melati Hasibuan, SH., M.Hum., Vice Dean III, Dr. Jelly Leviza, SH., M.Hum., and all Heads and Secretaries of Departments, as well as the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Law and Master's Program in Notary within the Faculty of Law USU.

 

Several academics and Faculty of Law USU alums, including Prof. Dr. OK, served as speakers. Saidin, SH., M.Hum., Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH., M.Li., and the Chairperson of DPN PERADI, Dr. H. Fauzie Yusuf Hasibuan, SH., M.H. The seminar also featured international speakers such as Theodoor Bakker, Oene J. Merseille, Shintaro Uno, and Dr. Ricardo Simanjuntak, SH., LL.M., ANZIP, CIP, MCIArb. Lecturers, students, notaries, and advocates attended the seminar.

 

The seminar was divided into two-panel sessions, featuring a variety of topics presented by the speakers, including dispute resolution through international arbitration, the role of Indonesian advocates in international business relations, cross-border insolvency law, drafting international contracts, developments in intellectual property, and the role of universities in the development of international business law.
