FH-USU PR: On Tuesday - Thursday, (13 - 15/08/2024), the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) holds a three-day campus life introduction for new students (PKKMB) of 2024. This event was attended by approximately 600 new Faculty of Law students from various selection processes, either SNBP, SNBT, west SMM-PTN, or independent selection process. The committee of PKKMB FH USU in 2024 raised the theme, "Introducing Legal Reality to Realize New Students of the Faculty of Law to Become Law Reformers who Favor Justice."
The first day of PKKMB FH USU began with an Opening Ceremony at the USU Mini Stadium. All new FH USU students gathered with other new students from various faculties at USU. The Opening Ceremony was opened directly by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si. After the opening ceremony, New Students, accompanied by the Committee and Representatives of the Dean of FH USU, walked together towards the Faculty of Law of USU. Arriving at the Faculty of Law of USU, the Dean and the Committee warmly welcomed the new students. Next, the event continued with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Law of USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law of USU congratulated the new students who had been accepted into the Faculty of Law of USU. The Dean advised, "Do not waste the battle that has been won, and be a smart and wise generation in becoming a student of the Faculty of Law, reminding that the alumni of the Faculty of Law who are now successful have also sat in the gazebo and experienced PKKMB so that such enthusiasm also needs to be instilled in learning at the Faculty of Law of USU," said the Dean.
The Head of the Committee, Gray Anugrah Sembiring, congratulated the new students of FH USU of 2024. He stated that in PKKMB FH USU 2024, students become legal reformers with a critical view of the current legal situation. The first day of PKKMB FH USU 2024 was closed with a series of material delivery by several FH USU Lecturers.
The second day of PKKMB FH USU opened with a morning assembly for new FH USU students. In this morning's assembly, the committee directed new students on technical matters that would be carried out that day. After the morning assembly, new students were directed to the FH USU Gazebo to participate in material delivery activities delivered by FH USU lecturers. In addition to providing materials, on the second day, there were also socialization activities for the Student Activity Unit at FH USU and Scholarship Socialization.
The third day of the activity continued with the delivery of opinions from new students regarding cases that had previously been given by the committee. Furthermore, academics and constitutional law experts Bivitri Susanti, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., filled the seminar held at the FH USU Hall. In addition to the seminar, there were Motivational activities by the head of the Medan State Attorney's Office, a sharing session by FH USU alumni, and the introduction of legal concentrations at FH USU.
With the end of the FH USU Campus Life Introduction event, it is hoped that it can provide benefits and objectives for equipping new students with the basic knowledge and skills needed during their studies at FH USU, which include orientation to the campus environment, strengthening academic values, character building, and understanding of ethics and culture on campus. In addition, PPKMB is designed to help new students adapt to academic and social life on campus.
