FH-USU PR: Friday (21/06/2023), the Economic Law Student Association (IMAHMI) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), together with the accompanying lecturer Dr. Robert, S.H., M.H carried out study visits in the Special Economic Zone (K.E.K) Sei Mangkei, Simalungun, North Sumatra. This activity was also attended by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH., M.Hum, and FH-USU PR, Boy Laksamana, SH., M.Hum. This study visit was held to introduce students to various aspects of K.E.K Sei Mangkei, including those related to infrastructure, industrial facilities, and strategic initiatives that support economic growth both at the national and regional levels.
The visit was received by the Senior Executive Vice President of K.E.K Sei Mangkei, Alwin Abdi, accompanied by the Chief Administrator at K.E.K Sei Mangkei, Elfi Harris, and his staff. The Dean of FH USU is very grateful for the warm welcome from the management of K.E.K Sei Mangkei. He hopes this study visit activity can provide experience and learning in the field for students previously only obtained in investment course lectures. Dr. Mahmul Siregar S.H., M.Hum said, "This activity provides new knowledge for students in the field of investment and innovation in developing business and investment strategies in a dynamic and rapidly developing environment such as the K.E.K Sei Mangkei."
Activities during the study visit include, among others, Exposure of Sei Mangkei Downstream Industry Development, Dialogue with Administrative Officials of K.E.K Sei Mangkei Water Treatment Plant Field Tour (Temporary Storage of Production Waste), Dry Port Land Port Field Tour for Export-Import activities.
