Wednesday (06/10/2021) International Law Department students, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), who are members of the International Law Students Association (ILSA) conducted a study visit to the Malaysian Consulate General Office located at Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro No. 43, Medan Polonia, Medan City. This Study Visit was attended by 13 students and 1 accompanying lecturer, Fajar Khaify Rizky, S.H., M.H., with close attention to health protocols, and it was ensured that the participants had received the COVID-19 vaccine before going directly into the field.

International Law Department students, Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), who are members of the International Law Students Association (ILSA), conducted a study visit to the Malaysian Consulate General Office located at Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro No. 43, Medan Polonia, Medan City. This Study Visit was attended by 13 students and one accompanying lecturer, Fajar Khaify Rizky, S.H., M.H., with close attention to health protocols, and it was ensured that the participants had received the COVID-19 vaccine before going directly into the field.

 

This study visit activity was held to increase the students' insight into diplomatic relations and the duties and roles of consular officials in the recipient country, especially Indonesia. The Malaysian Consulate General warmly welcomed the students and accompanying lecturers, and Mr. YM Aiyub Bin Omar, who serves as the Malaysian Consulate General, delivered the material directly.

 

Participants of this study visit also had the opportunity to do a field tour by going around the Malaysian Consulate General Office, being introduced to each staff room, and explaining the duties and functions of each staff member. The participants were invited to tour the offices of the Malaysian Tourism Office, the Malaysian Navy Transportation Office, the Malaysian Air Force Transportation Office, and the Malaysian Immigration officers. The Malaysian Consulate General also gave souvenirs to each participant who attended.
