FH-USU PR: Thursday (30/05/2024), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), in collaboration with Westlaw, held a Socialization and Search Training activity on the Westlaw Database. The activity, which took place hybrid, was aimed at Lecturers and Students in the Undergraduate Study Program, Masters Study Program, and Doctoral Study Program of Law Sciences FH USU. This activity aims to improve competence in law by utilizing the latest technology to find accurate and reliable legal information.
The event began with remarks by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, and the Head of USU Library, Laila Hadri Nasution, S.Sos., M.P. Then, the activity continued with exposure and training for participants under direct guidance by the resource person of the President Director of PT Ina Publikatama, M. Farhan Avicenna. The activity was moderated by the USU Faculty of Law Lecturer, Siti Khairunnisa, S.H., M.H.
In this activity, the resource person, Farhan Avicenna, President Director of PT Ina Publikatama, provided in-depth insight into using the Westlaw platform to search for legal information. With extensive experience in the legal publishing industry, Farhan provided tips and tricks for conducting effective and efficient legal searches using Westlaw. Participants were invited to engage in an interactive discussion about the challenges and opportunities of using Westlaw in legal information search activities.
