Saturday, March 25, 2017, In commemoration of the 63rd Anniversary of the Faculty of Law USU, a scientific oration activity delivered by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Yasona Laoly, SH., MSc., Ph.D, with the title of the oration "Mental Revolution and Law Enforcement Reform in Indonesia" was held.

 

The scientific oration activity, which took place in the Moot Court building of the Faculty of La,w was attended by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Runtung, SH., M.Hum, Dean of the Faculty of Law of USU Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH., M.hum, Chairman and Secretary of the 63rd Anniversary of the Faculty of Law of USU, the ranks of the North Sumatra Regional Office of Law and Human Rights, Lecturers, Students, all alumni and invitees.

 

In his report, the Chairman of the 63rd Anniversary Faculty of Law of USU, Dr. Idham, SH., M.Kn, delivered a series of Dies activities based on strengthening USU accreditation, especially the accreditation of the USU Faculty of Law, which includes several series of activities, namely, a Workshop that gave birth to a new journal called "USU Journal of Legal Studies," based on the Open Journal System (OJS) which can be accessed via the web http://jurnal.usu.ac.id/index.php/UJLS.. Environmental Law Research, Community Service, Dissemination/Seminar on the Revision of the KPK Law, competition activities, blood donation, scientific orations, and the peak of the Dies event was closed with a night of familiarity.

 

The Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH., M.Hum., in his speech, said that the USU Faculty of Law, as an academic implementing unit of USU as a PTN-BH in its 63rd year, has experienced quite rapid development, both in terms of facilities and infrastructure, quality of human resources for lecturers and education personnel, number of students, quality and quantity of graduates, and increasing public trust.

 

In his speech, the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Yasona Laoly, SH., MSc., Ph.D said that the mental revolution in legal reform can be likened to two sides of one coin. Both cannot be separated and must exist and be built continuously to be helpful. The Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia hopes that with the spirit of the 63rd Anniversary of the USU Faculty of Law, the USU Faculty of Law will be increasingly motivated to contribute maximally to improving the law enforcement system in Indonesia.
