FH USU PR: On Thursday, June 3, 2021, the Department of Administrative Law (HAN), in collaboration with Ikatan Mahasiswa Hukum Administrasi Negara (IMAHARA) of FH USU, organized a public lecture titled "Employee Status Transition in KPK from the Perspective of Administrative Law." This lecture was open to the public and opened by Vice Dean I and Head of the HAN Department at FH USU, Dr. Agusmidah, SH., M.Hum. In her opening remarks, Dr. Agusmidah highlighted the significance of maintaining a critical spirit when addressing the nation's controversies. She also encouraged academics to actively contribute their insights across academic, scientific, and social spheres.

Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH., M.LI, a Professor at FH USU, sparked the discussion by questioning KPK's current legal foundation and addressing the rule of law enforcement amid differing opinions and pressures. She also stressed the need for legal certainty regarding the employment status of KPK employees.

The public lecture featured Beni Kurnia Illahi, SH., M.Hum., a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Bengkulu, and a researcher at PUSaKO, Faculty of Law, Universitas Andalas, as the main speaker. In this case, he conveyed his research on the Systematic Efforts to Weaken KPK, which began with the issuance of UU No. 19 Tahun 2019 concerning the Second Amendment to UU No. 30 Tahun 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission ( UU KPK). He also thought that TWK was not the basis for the Transfer of KPK Employees' status. He also urged the President to intervene in the status transition process, restore the rights of terminated KPK employees, and hold government officials who fail to comply with rules and presidential directives accountable.

Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH., M.LI, concluded by urging communities, society, and academics to approach analyses objectively, avoiding emotional perspectives or assumptions and focusing instead on verified facts. She also encouraged ongoing support for corruption eradication efforts.

Monika Aprillia Simanjuntak, a member of IMAHARA FH USU, moderated the public lecture. The event was attended by approximately 90 participants via Zoom, with additional viewers watching the live stream on the IMAHARA FH USU YouTube channel. The session concluded with a call to all parties—academics and practitioners alike—to remain attentive to the nation's issues and to collaborate in overseeing policies, especially those aimed at combating corruption.
