HUMAS FH-USU: Monday (03/02/2025), the Indonesian Association of British Alumni (IABA) North Sumatra and the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the field of education, especially in the preparation of human resources that have international capacity. The signing of the MoU and public lecture initiated by the FH USU Doctor of Law Study Program (Prodi) took place in the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) room of the USU Faculty of Law.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum., and President of IABA North Sumatra Dr. Deni Purba, SH, LL.M., MCIArb.., and witnessed by IABA Sumut advisor Prof. Ir Nurlisa Ginting, MSc, PhD; Chairperson and Secretary of the Doctor of Law Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H., M.Li. and Dr. Tengku Keizerina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN., M.Hum.; representatives of academics, legal practitioners, and students.

In his remarks, the Dean of FH USU said that this collaboration was a strategic step to increase student insight and strengthen the capacity of academics and legal practitioners. “We hope that this collaboration can open opportunities for students to understand study better abroad opportunities and make a real contribution to international legal education,” said Dr. Mahmul Siregar.

In his speech, IABA North Sumatra President Dr. Deni Purba, SH, LL.M., MCIArb emphasized the importance of synergy between academic institutions and professional organizations in developing competent human resources in various fields. “Through this collaboration, IABA Sumut is committed to providing training, seminars, and educational programs that can help the capacity of students and academics,” said Dr. Deni A. Purba.

This MoU covers various forms of cooperation, including organizing seminars, workshops, joint research, and internship programs for FH USU students. With this cooperation, the academic world and legal practitioners hope to be more connected and benefit the development of legal science in Indonesia.

The MOU signing ceremony was followed by a public lecture by Prof. Gerald Hugh Lee, PhD, from Kedge Business School in France. Prof. Gerald Hugh Lee delivered a lecture entitled Business Ethics and Business of Ethics, which was attended by 70 postgraduate students from various departments at USU. Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH, MLI moderated this public lecture.
