Public Relation FH-USU: Thursday (16/05/2024), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) held Mendeley Training activities for Students and Lecturers in order to increase the Citation of FH USU Lecturers, by presenting a resource person for the Chairperson of the Regional Management of Relawan Jurnal Indonesia (RJI) North Sumatra, Dodi Siregar, SE.,S.Kom.,M.Kom. The training activity which took place in room 08 of the International Class of FH USU was guided by FH USU Lecturer, Dr. Vita Cita Ermia Tarigan, SH, LL.M and was attended by participants from lecturers and students of FH USU's undergraduate, master and doctoral law study programmes.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum in his remarks as well as opening the event said that one of the determinants of the reputation of a faculty or university in the QS World University Rankings assessment and BAN-PT assessment is how much the work of its lecturers gets public recognition nationally and internationally. Dr Mahmul said "one of these recognitions is by citation or how much the work of the lecturer is cited by the community. "Furthermore, in terms of student needs, when writing a thesis, thesis, dissertation, it can be done by citing or quoting someone's writing," said the Dean. The Dean hopes that this mendeley training can improve the ability of lecturers and students in using applications and various programs to be able to have their scientific works recognised by various journals to publish them.
Dodi Siregar, SE, S.Kom, M.Kom in the presentation of training material entitled "USING Various APPLICATIONS FOR PUBLICATION PURPOSES (Reference Sources, Paraphrasing, Reference Management)" conveyed several things, among others, related to various reference sources, paraphrasing techniques, how to make citations, and some of the benefits of Mendeley.
