The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), inaugurated the FH USU Student Executive Board (BEM) for the 2024/2025 Period at the FH USU Moot Court Building. This inauguration was a historic moment, following the vacuum of the student executive body previously known as the Student Government (PEMA) FH USU. At the end of this year, FH USU experienced a vital transition, where this student organization officially changed its name to the Student Executive Board (BEM) FH USU.
The inauguration was attended by the entire academic community of FH USU and took place solemnly. On this occasion, the Synergistic Cabinet, which carries the motto “SINERGITAS,” officially established the FH USU Student Executive Board (BEM) management structure for the 2024/2025 Period. The inaugurated Synergistic Cabinet consists of 15 Departments, which are divided into nine departments in the Internal field and six departments in the External field. This division aims to create better synergy in managing various work programs that will be implemented during their management period. Afif Hauzaan Abid, as the elected Chairperson of BEM, along with Andika Sitinjak, as the elected Vice Chairperson of BEM, hopes that the inauguration of this BEM can bring positive changes in the development of the interests and potential of the FH USU student community.
In his opening speech at the inauguration, Afif Hauzaan Abid expressed his commitment to bringing BEM FH USU in a better direction, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the management, students, and faculty in realizing common goals. In line with that, Andika Sitinjak also stressed in his speech, “Two important things that we must hold on to during the next year of management are commitment and responsibility for the mandate as administrators of BEM FH USU,” he said.
This inauguration marks the beginning of a new journey for BEM FH USU in carrying out its role as a forum for aspirations and drivers of change in the campus environment. With the spirit of synergy carried, it is hoped that this period of BEM FH USU can significantly contribute to campus progress and student welfare.
