FH-USU PR: Monday (17/02/2025), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) inaugurated the Faculty of Law Department Building held at the Pendopo of Faculty of Law (FH) USU. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar S.H., M.Hum, Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of the FH USU Study Programs, Lecturers and Students, as well as representatives from PT Musim Mas, namely Commissioner of PT Musim Mas, Erlina, Head HR Corporate, Lenny, HR Manager, Julina, and Recruitment Manager, Andi Taher, as well as PT Musim Mas Corporate Communication Team.
In his welcoming speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Law of USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, emphasized that this was not the first cooperation with PT Musim Mas. Previously, the company contributed to the infrastructure development at USU's Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). This shows that PT Musim Mas is committed to supporting the advancement of education in North Sumatra. Their support is clear evidence that the industrial sector can play an active role in the development of the academic world. Furthermore, Dr. Mahmul Siregar explained that the Faculty of Law of USU is constantly looking for ways to improve and renovate facilities and infrastructure without putting a dent in the university's budget. Therefore, funding sources outside the university and faculty's Activity and Budget Plan (RKA) involve participation from alumni and cooperation partners such as PT Musim Mas.
In her welcoming speech, Erlina, the Commissioner of PT Musim Mas, said that PT Musim Mas is committed to contributing to the education sector for the advancement of North Sumatra. She said that the renovation of the department building and the garden of the Faculty of Law of USU can provide comfort and improve the spirit of learning and teaching. "With better facilities, it can improve the quality of education and support various academic activities that involve both students and lecturers for the advancement of the Faculty of Law of USU in the future," said Erlina.
In his welcoming speech, the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, said that the construction of the USU Faculty of Law Department Building is part of the university's commitment to improving the quality of service of the tri dharma of higher education. This building is expected to become a center for the development of more advanced legal studies and support various innovations and research in the field of law.
The Faculty of Law of USU has long been recognized as an institution that plays a role in building national character and producing graduates with integrity and professionalism. With this new facility, it is hoped that students and academics will be increasingly encouraged to conduct quality research and establish collaborations with various parties.
The Rector of USU also expressed his appreciation to all parties who have contributed to the construction of this building, including PT Musim Mas, who supported the construction process until its completion. "The existence of this new building is expected to be optimally utilized to improve the quality of education and teaching at the USU Faculty of Law," said the Rector.
