The International Law Student Association (ILSA) of the USU Faculty of Law has successfully held an event entitled ILSA Workshop 2021: "The Art of Contract Drafting" through the online Zoom meeting media on Saturday (11/27/2021). This theme was raised based on the importance of contract drafting skills, especially for law students preparing to enter the world of practitioners after graduating. With the workshop system, this event became more interactive, with the speakers providing in-depth practical explanations regarding the contract.

The International Law Student Association (ILSA) of the USU Faculty of Law has successfully held an event entitled ILSA Workshop 2021: "The Art of Contract Drafting" through the online Zoom meeting media on Saturday (11/27/2021). This theme was raised based on the importance of contract drafting skills, especially for law students preparing to enter the world of practitioners after graduating. The workshop system made this event more interactive, with the speakers providing in-depth practical explanations regarding the contract.

 

Around 70 participants attended this workshop. It was opened by the Master of Ceremony (MC), namely Miss Medina Amanda, as well as remarks from the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum and President of the International Law Student Association (ILSA) of the USU Faculty of Law, T.M. Rivandra Abdilla. This workshop presented two speakers, namely Febry Indra Gunawan Sitorus, S.H. as Junior Associate Frans Girsang & Partners, who is also an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, University of North Sumatra and Andi Akhirah Khairunnisa, S.H. as Associate Lawyer BP Lawyers Counselors at Law which in each session was guided by Miranda Lufti Nasution who acted as Moderator.

 

In the presentation of the material for the two sessions, each speaker explained the basics of contracts, out-lining agreements and contract anatomy, techniques for designing agreements/contracts following applicable laws and regulations, and the stages and techniques in anticipating contract risks. By holding this event, it is hoped that the participants, primarily prospective graduates of the Faculty of Law and fresh graduates, can further explore and master one skill that Law graduates, namely contract drafting, must possess.
